The USA XC team took gold at the 2019 NACAC Cross Country Championships held this past weekend in Trinidad and Tobago. Katie Spratford, who participated in the Women’s 10k Senior race (37:44.00), placed 11th overall and sixth among USA team members. Athletes from seven countries competed in the event including: The Bahamas, Canada, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Jamaica, Mexico, and the United States of America.

But Spratford wasn’t the only NE Distance athlete to make their way across the pond.

Competing in the Larry McGuill Ras na hEireann Men’s 6k XC event, Aaron Dinzeo (18:12.00) placed fifth overall and third for U.S. runners.

To round off the Valentines’ weekend, three NE Distance elite athletes competed at Harvard’s 2019 USATF New England Indoor Championship on Feb. 17. Brian Crimmins (1:51.33) finished in second place in the Men’s 800m run, while Caitlin Marino (5:08.24) and John Schilkowsky (4:30.58) both placed seventh in the Mile run.
